Relaxation: Not Luxury—Necessity!

At True REST our Float Guru seeks to remind you that “YOU are always worth it”.
He’s right, you know.
You’re more than just worthy of deep relaxation—you require it; it’s a necessity! The bustling world we live in can tend to align with the belief that relaxing is a luxury—something a bit selfish and wasteful—perhaps only to be had on a vacation.
Because of this societal idea, it may feel foreign to us to begin choosing to dedicate time for true relaxation for ourselves. What a great paradigm it will be when, as a collective, we begin to honor and respect relaxation as being just as essential as it’s opposing actions.
Choosing as a whole to embrace the necessity and benefits of deep relaxation starts with each individual—with each of us choosing to find space for it in our own lives.
Modern life tends to stress us out  just enough to keep us in a constant tension. We pile on hours, days, weeks of stress into our minds and bodies–dedicating an hour to release these and deeply relax is a tremendously restorative act of self-care.

When we take care of ourselves, we can take care better in all aspects of our lives!

It’s crucial that we have ways and tools with which we counterbalance the active, stressful aspects of modern living with deep relaxation for both mind and body.
What goes up, must come down; why not regularly make time to release your accumulated stress and tension, rather than waiting for a “crash”?
It’s important to address that not all “relaxation” is created equal. Contrary to being just a pause fromdoing, at it’s most beneficial level relaxation is actually just as powerful a state as stress—in the complete opposite direction.
Just like stress, relaxation features it’s own set of chemical processes and utilizes it’s own nervous system (the parasympathetic). In truly relaxing our—typically fast-moving—brain waves get the opportunity to slow down and bring us into a perhaps rarely experienced space of deep peace.
Where can one reach the deepest levels of relaxation possible? A Float!
Floatation therapy has long been known as the most ideal environment to relax and restore on the deepest level. In each session we step into a world all our own—free of distraction, other people, the weather, things to do—and in this seeming “nothingness” can find rewards more than we ever dreamed.
Ask anyone who has been floating for some time—”doing nothing” has never felt more productive!
The modern world is built on efficiency—and the Float Pod ® is built for it too. The tremendous benefits of quality over quantity are evident in a 60-minute float session.
As a member of the True REST family I can personally attest to the benefits of an hour in the Float Pod: no guest leaves quite the same as they came in. There’s a consistent essence of refresh and calm with each emergence from a Float—and I love being a part of it!
Treat yourself like you count, because you do. Balance the inherent stresses of life with the truest quality relaxation. YOU are always worth it.
