A new year, a new you. Float on to feel great.

Come January, gym memberships begin to skyrocket as people get on their post-holiday detox routines and exercise regimens. Health blogs see a jump in their community engagement, wellness companies have a boost in sales and healthy living seems to be a widespread resolution on almost everyone’s list. The New Year has a certain energy about it, it just makes you want to give up those bad habits and turn to healthier choices instead. I believe that in order for us to stay committed to our health goals long term we have to get organized, carve out time for relaxation, and reward ourselves when we accomplish one of our goals. A simple and effective method I use to get myself prepared before January 1st hits is to create a list of all the things I want to accomplish in a day, week and month. My list looks, more or less, something like this:

Daily

  1. Drink green juice
  2. Meditate
  3. Practice yoga

Weekly

  1. Get outside and hike
  2. Jump in the ocean
  3. Try a new recipe

Monthly

  1. Float at True REST
  2. Volunteer
  3. Read a book

People from all over make a list of their resolutions at the beginning of the year but what happens when we fast forward 90 days in? Are those resolutions still being met with the same degree of commitment or have we already fallen off the wagon and are back to those old habits? Commitment to self care is not always the easiest thing to prioritize but if we stick with it and truly want to create a change in our life, we can.

Flotation therapy has been one of the greatest gifts that has ever come into my life and it has created a foundation for my self care routine. I was introduced to it at a time when I needed it the most and it truly has been the catalyst to my own interpersonal healing. I haven’t found anything that comes close in comparison to it and how deeply it can help destress my body and mind. No matter what your goals are for 2019, take the time to rest and heal your body. We need it more than many of us would like to admit!

Every day gives us a chance to reinvent ourselves. There is a new version of you just around the corner. Make floating a part of your New Year’s resolutions and a regular part of your healthy routine in 2019. It’s time to be the very best version of yourself.
