Relaxation

Meditation has been practiced around the world for thousands of years.

Meditation is a techiniqe used to quiet the mind and body, and release stress. It can also bring focus and clarity, and often, after a meditation session, problems that you have been struggling with, miraculously become solved. Meditation has also been known to inspire people to write, and to spur lucrative business ideas, as your subconscious comes to light.

One simple form of meditation, requires you to sit in a quiet room, either on a pillow, cross-legged on the floor, or in a comfortable chair, making sure your spine is straight. It is advised that you use the same place for meditation every day. It is also suggested that you personalize your spot, by beautifying it with candles, flowers, and pictures of the people that you love.

During a meditation session the idea is to sit quietly, with your eyes closed, and focus on a point inside of your forehead. Try not to think of anything in particular while during meditation, but don’t try ‘not’ to think either. This will allow your mind to become calm, and peaceful. If you find that your mind is ‘chattering’, don’t try to control it, just let it finish what it is that it is working on, it will eventually quiet down. It is recommended for beginners to start with ten to twenty minute meditation sessions, each day. After a while of doing this, you will start to feel deep relaxation and joy during these sessions.

Another great way to meditate is a method called the restricted environmental stimulation technique (REST). This method takes place in a flotation tank, rather than your house. This is a great way to relax and reduce stress. During flotation-REST a person lies horizontally in a quiet, light-insulated tank, filled with Epsom salt and saturated water. Not only does one’s mind get a chance to relax, the body, submerged within the tank, also relaxes. As with meditation in your home where you strive to feel the sensation of floating, with flotation therapy, you really are floating. This helps you to more easily relax.

Another way to meditate is to sit in a quiet, comfortable spot, making sure you are facing a wall about eight feet away from you. Pick a spot or object on that wall, and make that spot or object your focal point. Looking at your focal point, begin counting backwards from 100, one number for each breath you exhale. As you do this, imagine yourself floating, and feeling very relaxed. You will begin to feel your eyelids getting heavy, and may begin to blink. Let your eyes slowly close, and as you continue to count backwards, imagine yourself as limp as a ragdoll, totally relaxed, and floating in a safe and comfortable place. Stop counting, and just float in your space. If any disturbing thoughts should come while in your space, just let them flow out again, and allow yourself to continue to feel safe and relaxed. This meditation technique can help you to cope with stress, and discharge the tension that accumulates during stressful situations.

When you are ready to come out of this self-hypnosis, you can either let yourself drift off to sleep, or you can count from one to three and exit. First, count one, and get yourself ready to exit. At two, take a deep breath, and hold for a few seconds. At three, exhale and open your eyes slowly. As you open your eyes, continue to hold on to that relaxed and comfortable feeling that you felt during your meditation session. After you get the hang of things you may then want to increase the length of your sessions to thirty minutes, or maybe even an hour. In our highly active lifestyles, it is imperative that we include a brief time for meditation in our daily schedule.

At TrueRest, we strive to reduce stress and increase relaxation through the innovative method of flotation therapy. In today’s day and age people are going non stop, which doesn’t allow them to relax and greatly increases stress. We provide quality therapy to Scottsdale, AZ and the surrounding communities. Flotation Pod Provides the Ultimate in Relaxation

SCOTTSDALE, AZ, February 8, 2010 — When most people return from London, they rave about Big Ben, Harrods or the changing of the guard. When Nick Janicki returned from a trip to London, he couldn’t stop talking about his experience in a flotation device.

Janicki did more than just talk about it - he decided to make it his life’s work. His dream has come true, with the recent opening of Scottsdale’s only Flotation REST facility - and the first in the U.S. to offer REST pod technology.

“I’m extremely excited to be sharing my dream with the people of Scottsdale,” said Janicki. “It’s a dream in the true sense of the word, because our customers enter a relaxed, dreamlike state when they are in one of our True REST pods.”

Originally known as sensory deprivation tanks, Flotation REST (Restricted Environmental Stimulus Therapy) pods allow the individual to float effortlessly on top of a pool of saltwater - 10 inches of water and 800 pounds of salt - in a specially designed tank with minimal light and sound. They have been credited with alleviating a variety of ailments, from stress and high blood pressure to lack of sleep and physical pain.

Janicki says that just one hour spent in a True REST pod can provide the benefits of four hours of sleep. “In our sleep-deprived society,” he said, “this is a real plus.”

The facility has been open less than a month, and there already is a waiting list of 1,300. “Many people are curious about our REST pods and want to see what it’s all about,” said Janicki. “But our best ‘marketing’ comes from those who already have had a REST experience at our facility. They tell their friends and family how awesome it is. The benefits are definitely spreading by word of mouth.”

Everything about the facility - and the pods - is cutting-edge high-tech, down to the filtration system. The REST pods feature a state-of-the-art purification system that automatically begins cleaning the pod after each use and can disinfect and filter out particles to 1 micron (1/100th a human hair). The 5-by-9-foot pods can accommodate people of all shapes and sizes.

On the True REST website - http://www.truerest.com - visitors can read customers’ reviews and watch a Fox News report on the new facility.

A one-hour float costs $79, but first-time clients can float for $49. The facility is located at 15033 N Thompson Peak Parkway, Suite D101. For more information, visit http://www.truerest.com.

Fox News reports on TrueREST

SCOTTSDALE -- It sounds like something out of a science fiction movie -- getting into a pod and floating on water.

In the 1970s they were called sensory deprivation tanks, but they have been upgraded with the times.

On Nick Janicki's trip to London, he tried out the floatation device. He says as soon as he did it, he knew what he wanted to do with his life.
"Tried my very first float. After 60 minutes I got out and had this massive elated smile on my face, I just looked like an idiot, I didn't know what to do with myself and I said this thing is amazing," he recalls.

Janicki came back to Arizona and decided to open a True REST float center in Scottsdale featuring these rest pods.
"The water is heated to skin temperature and after about 20 minutes the brain stops recognizing the water and your body, so of course anyone with pain, fibromyalgia, migraines anything like that, it very much helps get rid of all that pain."

The 9-foot-long and 5-feet-tall pod has light and music inside, and its filled with 10 inches of water and 800 pounds of salt to make you float.

"Its like floating in oil, that's what blew my mind. You are in water for an hour, you think you are going to be dried out like a prune but its 180 degrees the opposite. It literally feels like you are floating in oil and even afterwards the way my skin feels now, that really surprised me," says first-time user David Farnsworth.

Janicki says that in just an hour, you can get the benefits of four hours of sleep. 1,300 people in the valley are already on a waiting list to get a chance in the rest pod.

True REST is located on Thompson Peak and Frank Lloyd Wright in Scottsdale.

Scottsdale’s Pioneering Flotation REST Facility Launches New Website

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Oct 15, 2009 In preparation for its Winter of 2009 opening, True REST Float Center has launched its new website, http://Truerest.com. The center is the first in the United States to offer REST pod technology.

The website walks potential clients through every step of the float experience.

In addition to a video overview, site features include:
—An online reservation system
—Members’ area
—Special discounts
—Live help
—Complimentary products and services

Flotation REST (Restricted Environmental Stimulus Therapy) involves floating on top of a pool of saltwater - 10 inches of purified water and 800 pounds of specifically formulated Epsom salt imported from Germany. Because of the high salt content of the water, which is heated to skin surface temperature, a person is able to float effortlessly. According to the website’s video, the “special solution of salinated water makes floating on water feel like floating on air.”

Owner Nick Janicki said Flotation REST - originally developed in the ‘70s - is an idea whose time has come. Recent studies have linked lack of sleep to problems ranging from obesity, memory loss, and a weakened immune system. True REST owner Nick Janicki said the REST pod is designed to take flotation into the 21st century. “Lack of sleep is approaching epidemic proportions,” said Janicki. “We believe 60 minutes in our technology will surpass the benefits gained from the most restful sleep.”

Flotation REST also has been associated with the following benefits:
—Eliminates jet lag
—Alleviates stress
—Energizes, rejuvenates and revitalizes
—Quickens rehabilitation and recovery
—Relieves pain
—Boosts immunity
—Improves circulation
—Reduces blood pressure, pulse, heart rate and oxygen consumption
—Sharpens mental clarity and alertness

The 60-minute float sessions include a wide variety of musical choices and guided audio. Audio guidance can help clients experience enhanced mental, physical, and emotional states. Specific sound frequencies can help clients tap into more of the brain’s innate abilities, enter deep meditative states reliably and easily, reduce stress, enhance creativity and become more productive.

Membership packages are available as follows: Basic: $59 (one float per month) Plus: $99 (two floats per month) Premium: $180 (four floats per month) Many additional services and benefits are provided to members free of charge, including an oxygen bar, quiet room and loyalty points.

“With medical factors pointing to the importance of rest, Flotation REST sessions are not a luxury but a necessity for a healthy lifestyle,” said Janicki. “I invite anyone interested to visit http://Truerest.com for more information - and, in November, to visit our facility and experience it for themselves.” About True REST Float Center The True REST Float Center was started by Nick Janicki and his wife, Holly, in 2009. Alex Janicki, brother to Nick, also works at the center and you will likely see one of their smiling faces upon your visit. “Everyone at the Center is passionate about Flotation REST and we hope the American public can see the exceptional value of such a service,” said Janicki.
